Luxury Travel Testimonial - Part 2: Cambodia
If you are to tour southern Vietnam , you should try and make the time to visit Cambodia . Some take a cruise up the Mekong , while another possibility is to take a return flight from HCMC/Siem Reap if your schedule does not allow the time for a river cruise. In this case, the most important and famous attraction in Cambodia is the Angkor temples, near the city of Siem Reap . They can be considered one of the seven wonders of the world. The very well preserved structures date to the 12 and 13 century and even earlier. What is the most important ingredient in visiting these temples? A guide who is an expert in the field. And this is exactly what we had in Siem Reap thanks to Luxury Travel. Along with the driver and car (01), she was a real professor in the sense that she knew every nook and cranny of the area and able to explain everything in detail and respond to any question (Picture 9). To explore amongst other sites there Angkor Vat (dating back to the 12 th century) and Angkor Thom (beginning of 13 th century) is an experience that no one will forget. The guide was most valuable in timing the visits so that the daylight and lighting be most appropriate for viewing and photographing the different structures.
There are floating villages nearby as well which one can visit
We had traveled from one country to another, from Vietnam to Cambodia , but it is obvious that Luxury Travel is as efficient in Cambodia as in Vietnam .
We highly recommend our Siem Reap accommodations, Hotel de la Paix, a modern five star boutique hotel, very well situated in the heart of Siem Reap (Picture 10). It has a beautiful pool and spa which some people may find so refreshing after a day of visits to the temples. The hotel is a bit pricy, but Luxury can offer a wide variety of other choices. Siem Reap is booming as a tourist attraction because of the temples situated only 7 kilometers from the city, and so there is no dearth of hotels.
