Upon entering Vientiane , you will be surprised at the relaxed atmosphere and small-town charm of this capital city. This capital city is characterized by an eclectic mix of colonial-French buildings and ancient temples along with colorful markets.

Nestled in the valleys of the mountainous north, it is Luang Prabang, a former royal capital and now a World Heritage Site listed by the UNESCO. This enchanting city, dominated by golden-roofed temples and bright saffron-robed monks, exudes a spiritual essence that will surely capture your soul.

This trip has been specially designed for families traveling to Laos – minimizing long journeys and plenty of time on nature and among wildlife without the comfort and always the luxurious, adventurous, unique and wonderful. You are certain to be entertained by the Lao people, history, color, nature and culture.

Day 1: Arrive in Vientiane

Warmly welcome on arrive in Vientiane airport and transfer to hotel. Although it is a capital city, Vientiane has the feel of a small provincial town. The wide boulevards are almost devoid of traffic and with its many temples; the city retains the feel of another age. Free. At leisure. Overnight in Vientiane .

Day 2: Vientiane (B/D)

Our tour today including visits to the Wat Sisaket with its thousands of miniature Buddha statues followed by the Wat Simuang and Wat Prakeo, which was the original home of the famous Emerald Buddha, which today lives in Bangkok. Continue to visit the huge golden That Luang monument, where all Lao citizen respect as holy pagoda and the Vientiane 's own Victory Monument , which looks like the Arc de Triumphe. Visit the National Museum and do shopping at the Morning market. Dinner at local restaurant. Overnight in Vientiane .

Day 3: Vientiane – Luang Prabang (B)

In the morning take flight from Vientiane to Luang Prabang - the former Royal capital. Pick up and transfer to your hotel. It is time to explore city with visits to Wat Visoun, the site of impressive Thad Makmo stupa ; the Wat Mai which built in 1796, the five-tiered roof of the wooden Sim (chapel) epitomizes the graceful Luang Prabang architectural style and the Wat Xieng Thong further emphasizes the uniqueness of Luang Prabang, its several roofs sweeping low to the ground. Climb up 350 steps to the top of the Phou Sii hill to visit the Wat Phu Sii and enjoy commanding views for many miles in each direction. Back to hotel for leisure or you can go shopping at the Central Market Overnight in Luang Prabang.

Day 4: Mekong River - Pak Ou cave - Weaving village - (B)

An optional early start gives you the fantastic opportunity to participate in the daily morning rituals of saffron-clad monks collecting offerings of Alms (often in the form of sticky rice) from the faithful residents. This tradition is very unique in Laos , being the only Buddhist nation still preserving the ritual.

Take a Mekong Riverboat trip on the mighty Mekong River to visit the famous & sacred Pak Ou Buddha Caves - home to many thousands of Buddha images that were placed here by local people since 16th century - overlooking the confluence of the Mekong & Ou Rivers. On the way back to Luang Prabang visit Por Sa Paper Handicraft & Textile area at Ban Xang Khong. Afternoon you visit tribal villages and Kuangsi Waterfall. Overnight in Luang Prabang.

Day 5: Elephant Ride in Luang Phrabang (B)

This full day excursion takes your family to discover the stunning landscape, tranquility and lush nature of Luang Prabang and experience riding elephant. You will proceed to the fun excursion to the elephant camp about 15 km out of town and in the middle of green, natural surroundings just on the banks of the Nam Khan river. After crossing the small river at the Lao Spirit Resort you will be introduced to the protected Asian Elephants and go out for a scenic ride. Enjoy the new perspective and the wonderful nature on this 2-3hr ride. On the ride you make your way through forests and along the Nam Khan River . The ride brings you up to/from the amazing waterfalls of Tad Sae waterfalls. Here you can hang out for lunch and swimming in the refreshing cascades. A short boat trip will bring you back to the elephant camp. After that you will have a transfer back your hotel in Luang Prabang.

Day 6: Luang Prabang departure (B)

There is no activity planned for today. Enjoy your free time for souvenir shopping until transfer to the airport for your onward flight.
