The Best of Vietnam Now 14 days/13 nights
Trip Code: VCBV14D

Hanoi , Halong Bay , Sapa, Hue , Danang & Hoi An, HCMC (formerly Saigon)

Private tour, departs on daily basis.

This tour combines the urban highlights of a trip to Vietnam with the most exciting cultural destinations. Start your trip in post-colonial Hanoi, where you will be treated to a private city tour, dinner at one of the city's leading restaurants, and a performance of the famed Thang Long water puppets. Also spend a night on a junk on Halong Bay, where thousands of limestone rock sculptures jut dramatically from the sea and numerous grottoes have created an ephemeral, fantastic landscape.

After Hanoi, board the deluxe Victoria Express Train to Sapa. Set among the highest mountains in Vietnam, at the border of China, Sapa is one of the country's most intriguing destinations. Mountainous northern Vietnam is one of the best places in Asia to visit hill tribe villages and see dramatic mountains covered with terraced rice fields. This tour combines this rural idyll with Vietnam 's best urban and small town experiences. In Sapa, spend time learning about the local hill tribe villages and absorb the magnificent scenery before taking the train back to Hanoi.

Next, fly down to Hue, where you will visit the Citadel and the tomb of Tu Duc, and enjoy a sunset cruise. From Hue, depart on a coastal drive to Danang and Hoi An, a wonderful oasis of traditional Vietnamese architecture, Chinese clan houses, temples, pagodas, and houses open to the public that display superb woodwork and beautiful antiques.

There will also be time to relax at the beach before flying to HCMC for city touring and excursion to Tay Ninh province. There, visit the fascinating Cao Dai Temple and the network of secret tunnels in Cu Chi that were used during the U.S.-Vietnam War. Spend one last night in HCMC before your departure flight.

The temple's exterior is decorated with multi-colored dragons of all shapes and sizes competing for space with a number of religious symbols. Above the main entrance is the all-seeing holy eye, the symbol of the Cao Dai sect. The interior is just as engaging as statues of Jesus Christ, Buddha and the Hindu god, Brahma, stand side by side. The trip to Tay Ninh is combined with a visit to the Cu Chi Tunnels. At its height, the tunnel system stretched over 250km. from Saigon to the Cambodian border and was three levels deep. The network included innumerable trap doors, specially constructed living areas, storage facilities, weapons factories, field hospitals, command centers and kitchens. Marshall and I have just returned from our two-week trip to Viet Nam.The trip was PERFECT- we had excellent weather, we loved the country and its people, and the arrangements that you made for us were luxurious in every way. The hotels were first class, we were met by representatives of Luxury Travel at every stop, our guides and drivers were superb, especially Lock who accompanied us on the Mekong Delta, and the lunch places you arranged for us (an unexpected extra) were fabulous. We are so grateful to Luxury Travel for treating us like royalty, and so happy that we found you on the Internet. To be honest, I was a little worried at first dealing with a Vietnamese company we did not know. But your company exceeded our expectations in every way and we would be happy to recommend Luxury Travel to one and all. As far as  we are concerned, YOU ARE THE BEST!!!!!!   Thank you very much for all your efforts in making our trip so comfortable, wonderful, and memorable tours. 1 Miden Lane, Tiburon, CA, 94920, USA
