This hotel is a quiet little refuge from the noise of Hanoi. Once through the gates, the constant beeping of horns and traffic noise disappears. The hotel is comfortable and clean. The staff are polite but not very friendly. The hotel is attached to the Ministry of Defence and was the old Army barrracks so maybe this explains their cool demeanour. One thing that did annoy us was the lack of tea/coffee making facilities and we could not get a cup of tea sent to our room. However we would reccomend this hotel as being value for money. The location is good, quiet and just 100metres from the Opera House. TripAdvisor.com

I wish to thank you for your very prompt and professional service. I was very impressed by the information you provided via the intranet prior to our travel, the paperwork was sent promptly and your regular correspondence gave me every confidence that things would be organised for us in Vietnam . I accept that the non-presentation of the driver upon our arrival at the airport was beyond your control and we were surprised and very impressed by your dedication, honestly and professionalism when you contacted us to offer a refund. We did not expect this. So thank you very much. Also thank you for organising the driver for us to return tot he airport. This worked out well and so overall our travel arrangement with you was a total success.

We were very happy with the Army Hotel - the room was clean, spacious and met our needs. Our daughter particulary enjoyed having the TV in the bed room. We used the hotel pool and did not mind that it was quite busy in the evenings with hotel guests and local paying customers. We tried the restaurant a few times. It is very cheap, the food was fine and the service was good. We also used room service which was fine. We also used the laundry service which was efficient and cheap.  We had a hot water urn in the room but no coffee making facilities. When I asked for cups/coffee the reception told me that I had to order coffee from the restaurant. If I stay at the Army Hotel again I will bring my own cups and coffee as we like to have a coffee when we wake. (Most hotels have complementary tea/coffee) Our daughter loved the huge bath in the bath room which was well used after hours in the pool and she was happy as she made some friends while playing in the pool. We would definately recommend the Army Hotel to friends.
